Register Your Toilet Before the Amnesty Period Ends

The Office of Civic Digestion opens a registration amnesty for unregistered toilets and sets the date after which an unregistered fixture becomes unlawful.

Under the Residential Digestive Contribution Act, every fixture connected to the Municipal Fart Grid must be registered to the household it serves. The Office estimates that a number of toilets across the district remain unregistered, unmetered, and unaccounted for. For a limited period, the Office will enter these fixtures into the record without penalty. After that period, it will enter them differently.

Residents are directed to observe the following:

  1. Register every seated fixture. Each toilet, whether in daily service or held in reserve, must be entered on Form CD-31, the Fixture Registration, one form per fixture. Guest baths are not exempt. A fixture the household forgets is a fixture the Office remembers.

  2. The amnesty closes at dusk on the thirty-first. Fixtures registered on or before that date are recorded as compliant, back to the day they were installed. There is no fee, no arrears, and no inquiry into the years they went unnamed.

  3. Declare; do not conceal. The Office is not asking where the fixture came from. It is asking only that the fixture be known to the grid it draws upon.

  4. Receive your decal. Each registered fixture is issued a numbered decal for the tank. The number is the fixture's, not the household's, and travels with the porcelain, not the family.

After the amnesty closes, an unregistered fixture is not an oversight but an unlawful connection, and it will be found. The grid can hear a toilet it has never met. Register now, while registration is still a kindness.
