Do Not Flush Between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m.

The Demand Response Division designates 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. as the daily peak flush window and directs households to hold contributions until it clears.

Between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., every household in the service territory arrives home, is fed, and reaches the same conclusion at the same time. The Municipal Fart Grid calls this the evening crest. You may call it dinner.

Effective immediately, the two hours between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. are designated a peak flush window.

Residents are directed to observe the following:

  1. Hold discretionary contributions. Anything that can wait until 8:01 should wait until 8:01. The window is 120 minutes long and has never, in testing, proven unsurvivable.

  2. Shift, do not skip. Contributions moved earlier than 6:00 or later than 8:00 relieve the crest. Contributions held indefinitely relieve no one and concern this Division.

  3. Filed exemptions apply. Households with a medical or infant exemption on file flush as needed and owe no explanation. The window bends for need. It does not bend for preference.

  4. One household, one clock. Set every fixture to municipal time. A stall that runs three minutes fast has, by definition, flushed during the window.

Fixtures are read at the main; the Division knows the hour at which each residence exhaled. Two hours of restraint spares the territory a longer darkness. The crest is brief. So is the ask.
