CommodeNet Outage in District 7

With CommodeNet telemetry down across District 7, the Office of Civic Digestion directs residents to self-report every contribution on Form CD-19, in ink, in triplicate, until service is restored.

CommodeNet telemetry is offline across District 7. A relay at the Fourth Street station failed at approximately 2:40 a.m. and took the district's automatic contribution logging with it. Crews are on it. Until the system is restored, the grid is blind over District 7, and the Office cannot allow a contribution to go uncounted.

Effective immediately, and until service is restored, residents of the affected blocks are directed to observe the following:

  1. Self-report every contribution. Each event must be recorded on Form CD-19, the Contribution Self-Report, available at the District 7 office and the branch library. Verbal reports cannot be accepted; the grid does not hear.

  2. Use ink. Pencil is not permanent, and a contribution, once made, is not provisional. Complete the form in ink.

  3. File in triplicate. One copy for CommodeNet, one for the district ledger, one for your household records. Retain your copy; the Office may ask you to reconcile it.

  4. Estimate honestly. The fields for time, duration, and volume are to be filled to the best of your recollection. The Office would rather have your estimate than your silence.

Automatic logging will resume the moment the relay is restored, and the paper record will be reconciled against it. Contributions made in District 7 during the outage are not forgiven, deferred, or forgotten. They are merely, for now, handwritten.
